Making tiny glass pieces is so absorbing and addictive to me, especially these little worlds. I 'paint' the miniature pictures with rods of coloured molten glass. Every one is a challenge and lesson in glass behavior and reactions.

Colour mixing, oxygen/propane levels and heat control all change the overall outcome. Some colours are fussy and explode easily in the flame, some discolour, bubble, or crack, some don't like others, and some are more predictable, but the complexity in learning how they all play together is what keeps it interesting.
